“SI PILEMON, SI PILEMON, DANDANSOY,
USAHAY and MATUD NILA”
Filipino songs make the very nature
of the tribe, show distinct local characteristics and reflect outstanding
regional traits.
The songs “Si Pilemon, Si Pilemon” shown the main livelihood of the Ilonggos. According to the folk song Si Pilemon went fishing in the sea and he caught a tambasakan-a kind of fish in marshy area. He sold it in the depilated market, and he earned a little cash, and then bought for himself a “tuba”. It is only shown that the socio-economic of the Ilonggo was poor because instead to saved that little cash, he only bought in that nonsense tuba.
